As sad as it may be, I'm 23 years old and still really adore Pokemon. I have literally grown up with the franchise and I still have a fondness for it.
So here's a little something to that theme - myself at 13 (when I got Pokemon Gold) and 23 with my now favourite Pokemon, hoothoot/noctowl. I COULD have set it from when I received blue, but this works better in my opinion.
Era as a noctowl is wearing a bell, as she usually holds a Shell Bell in my games.
Eh, growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional :}

So awesome. I love how you draw all the birdy Pokemon. <3
I love Pokemon so much. My boyfriend preordered Black for me on Valentine's Day. To a lot of people our age that would be an insult, but to me? BEST PRESENT EVER!
Pokemon will always hold a special place in my heart. <3 Seeing this picture gave me the warm fuzzies, d'awww. Love it.

I waaaant black so so much, but alas I am le poor xD Oh well, I have my Heart Gold and I'm still quite pleased I can finally have my owls following me about :} Your boyfriend has good taste!
WARM FUZZIES WERE HAD. My brother recently got the first 300 or so episodes and we're rewatching them, though we're a lot more critical now then we were as kids! xD Turns into us MST3King it most the time.

Actually this would more be a short story of the veteran trainer visiting an old friend with his current team and the old timer and the new kid chatting it up. Sorta an idea that came out of that Ive been playing since blue, and my Lvl 96 Venusaur and pals on the old game are still something I cherish.
Mostly ideas right now although, but it could happen at some point.

I have been heavily debating on uploading my main pokemon fanfic, it was based off a trainer... *weak laugh* pretty much off of my character in the silver game. It's just so many writers go unseen be it here or anywhere else that is not dedicated to fanfics, ie: fanfiction.net
I was about the same age when I got Blue and Red together.
I've dabbled a little in each and every game to a point. I think half way for each or even beating one or two.
I'd play most in emulators and such and was eventually roped into buying a copy of SoulSilver last year.
Dont know if I'll ever finish it heh, but they are fine RPGs if not really kiddy.
I'm 26 now and I jsut pre-ordered black on amazon. They have a ten dollar credit thing going on for pre-orders, so its like saving ten bucks.
I played the Japanese version of White and found alot of good improvements. Level grinding is now alot better with different color grass for harder wild fights.
I've also found the new creatures to be really stupid looking but their evolutions are much better, giving me some incentive to level them up.
Theres also some 3D effects which I suspect should be enhanced on the new 3DS.
Anyway ya, they did a good job on the game for once, I was surprised they even bothered.
Its not all that embarrassing to play the games, especially when one has more or less grown with them a bit.
Though I'd be worried if one hangs around tournaments and events with all the kiddies....
P.S. I also like to do a little bit of game hackery now and then. Lemme know if ya need an event pkmn from a missed event or the like. Or just want to give a friend a bogus broken one hur. I still have the tools since I last dabbled in it. :P

:> There's absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying Pokemon as much as you did when you were a kid. We grew up with Pokemon too, and we enjoy it just as much as we did, if not more. It's a daily part of our lives. We were acting childish and enjoying waiting outside of ToysRus for our copies of B/W, waiting in the rain with an umbrella. It was nice. As soon as we got the games we essentially started playing.
:3 My first game was Yellow, but I had to sacrifice pokemon for a little while due to circumstances happening at the time. When I got back into it, I had gotten Crystal. Gen 2 is still to date my favorite gen (though Gen 5 is super close). Such fond memories spent with those Pokes, I still like all the same guys I did when I was 11.
I really enjoy this picture, and it's adorable how your Noctowl wears a bell.
