In the beginning, the Originators created seven powerful gemstones, each containing a virtually limitless quantity of magical energy, each one bound to one of the Fabrics of the Weave. These seven, dice-sized, glowing gemstones are called the Arcanium Jewels. Many of the Arcanium Jewel’s shapes have sharp edges or points, but they seem to be unable to cut or harm any living creature.
While the exact purpose for why the Originators created the Arcanium Jewels is unknown, some philosophers theorize that they were placed as a deterrent for any Deum thinking about harming or otherwise subjugating mortals. (The Jewels appear to not respond when an ‘immortal’ being attempts to use them.) The Jewels are able to be manipulated by both physical matter and Souls, and vice versa.
