Aye - colouring is a boat-load of work, that's for sure. I can see where you started doing the shading at the eye ridge, and the placement looks good for the bit you have. What you should try doing is putting the colour down with a "multiply" or "Overlay" brush so that it blends down with the black lines rather than leaving some white seam near them. One of a few tricks for colour work.
