yes, and it gives light enough colours dispite of the fact that it is heated up to 343 degrees centigrade.

Do you heat it every time it must be used? Or is this the end result of old flax oil? I’ve only ever painted with store bought so this is really interesting.

By no means it is specially aged. Yes, this is that really old recipe of linseed oil boiled with lime, but It is prepared in several minutes. And it is an oil no more, just a mixture of different calcium salts from fatty acids. Further it should be dissolved in a strong essential oil.
