That's who the name of the artist was! I've always thought his comics in MAD were funny, and always noticed his odd, elongated faces he drew.

Martin often was billed as "Mad's Maddest Artist." Whereas other features in Mad, recurring or otherwise, typically were headed with pun-filled "department" titles, Martin's work always was headed with only his name—"Don Martin Dept." — further fanfare presumably being unnecessary.
and by an endless capacity for newly coined, onomatopoetic sound effects, such as "BREEDEET BREEDEET" for a croaking frog, "PLORTCH" for a knight being stabbed by a sword, or "FAGROON klubble klubble" for a collapsing building. (Martin's dedication to onomatopoeia was such that he owned a vanity license plate which read "SHTOINK," patterned after the style of his famed sound effects.)

I am well over 40 years old.. I have seen a LOT of fun silly artwork with regards to the older cartoon classics.. but I have *NEVER* seen this big splash of utterly HILARIOUS fun before!

(( reminds me of a very old Mad Magazine comic done by the late, legendary *super silly * artist ... the master of the "hinged foot". ** DON MARTIAN**
He did a few page spread of "a mad look at popeye the sailor".. and in one of them, olive sees popeye gulp down a half a can of spinach before going outside to do some heavy work.. he gobbles it and then he flexes his right arm.. *GLOINK!* BIG ol Iron Muscle..

SHE gets a sudden burst of inspiration.. she grabs the leftover can of spinach, gulps it down..
then ** BLEEEP!** all of a sudden, she has a WHOPPING Big Pair of * Womanly BEWBIES! *
