lennymutt opened up for some reference commissions like last year sometime, probably the summer, and I snagged a couple, anticipating some costume action in the coming months. Well, things happened to delay this a lot, and often, and most of the time we were communicating, it was me telling It's a toony reference for an anthro Rooth'roo! It even features his ™RADPouch. Suitable for a cute costume I'll someday have made, or make myself. Actually, I have the feet already, and a head (though sans headfur). And I'm in discussions with CanineHybrid to work with her on building all the stuff in between head and feet. So it could really happen! lennymutt borrowed some lines I put on the feral Rooth'roo reference, which is cool, 'cause they really help turn the sheet into a one-stop shopping image for artists. Just what it's supposed to be. ;)
Rooth'roo was originally just a white roo, but one day I felt I had to explain why he had such enormous feet and fluffier fur than he ought. Artists also kept drawing him with a pink nose and pads because they thought he was albino (he's not, he just has white fur). Flinters and I were chatting on FurryMUCK about it a decade ago or something, and he and I came up with this "snowshoe roo" species idea. And viola! An explanation for Rooth'roo's ... rooishness. Also an explanation for his white fur (snowshoe hares have white fur, roos need to be albino to have the same). Still kept getting drawn as albino at times, but now that I have feral and anthro references depicting otherwise, that should be a thing of the past. >:^)

I just NOW realized you think I'm a guy... lol I am a girl BUT I get this all the time and I don't care (I'm not doing myself any favors with the guyish sounding name but I'm very tomboyish so whatever. No big deal! And also it's been a pleasure to draw for you so far! :)
D'oh!! Y'know, I could have just taken 6 seconds to look at your user page. In the past, comments like "me and my boyfriend" would have prompted me to do just that to see whether or not you were gay. Lately, I find myself falling back into my 90s internet policy, which causes me to assume everyone on the internet is a guy. I'm just in denial! LOL
Well, that, and every time I saw "Lenny" I thought of the movie Memento. Leonard always corrects Teddie when Teddie calls him Lenny, "It's Leonard." "Whatever." And Leonard/Lenny is so very male, he spends half the movie proving it to the audience (not by nudity, but by showing off his obscenely fit torso full of freaky tattoos .. which I can only imagine got that way because he keeps forgetting whether or not he has worked out, and how long he's been working out .. he should add a tattoo that says "stop working out already and eat something"). Right, so naturally I'd associate "Lenny" with that guy. ;)

lol! Nah it's ok! I get it mostly because of the lenny being considered more of a dude thing... and my character/fursuit doesn't look very girly (on purpose) so yeah... happens all the time but to be honest with you, my brain is FAR more male wired than female anyway. About the only girly activity I participate in is the tradition of going in stores and smelling all the really nice candles. :P
And actually it's interesting you bring up the Leonard thing. That's actually one of the reasons that's my nickname... since my real last name is Leonard :)

I still can't understand why so many view this woman as their messiah. Her art is childish, her prices are hefty, her demeanor is arrogant and her terms are absurd! Hey! Did she DEMAND that you mark your paypal payment as 'gift' and then curse you out when you politely inform her that is against pp tos like she me?
This woman should give up drawing, get off welfare and get a job cleaning toilets! ^_^

Her price may seem high, but then, why did you commission her? The prices should have been clear up-front.
FWIW, I found nothing wrong with her demeanor or terms. I generally decline requests for PayPal payments to be made as gifts to avoid fees, but instead, tip the artist a couple of bucks to cover fees. I would call her art toonish (which is what I was looking for for this ref), not chidish, and she was kind enough to go back and forth with me several times on this particular piece without complaining or asking for more money, which is an attitude and demeanor to be encouraged in this market. There were a few stretches of weeks there where I was unresponsive with pending feedback, holding up the commission, and she did not once complain about it, and happily resumed work once I gave her what she needed.
Besides, getting a job cleaning toilets is very difficult in today's economy (I actually have a friend who tried -- was told he was "overqualified"). Hence the 9% unemployment rate. ;)
I am genuinely sorry you had some problems with this artist, and I can pass no judgements in the absence of evidence. But leaving flaming comments under my submission won't help resolve those problems, they only fuel your spite. If you have a beef with her, I recommend taking it up with her, not me -- i have nothing to do with the issues you had with your transaction with her. The link to the relevant submission in her account is in the submission description above, for your convenience.
