This is some kind of tutorial for a friend, hope it helps him o.o
1) My basic head is just a sphere with a modified lower half to make the jaw. Usually more rounder means more cute, specially in the anime style.
2)I make the sketch of a human head with a slightly more angled jaw. Also in reality most jaws aren't ponty, they are kind of flat in the lower part.
3)This is an example of how I do anthro heads. You can see it has pretty round cheeks. I also add the ears but the top half of the sphere remains.
4) Finally I just made a random head with "flat" ears and widening the cheek drawing a little more. It was kind of a test to show that a lot of faces can be done by just modifying the lower part of the sphere. In this case it kinda reminded me of a squirrel :P
There are also other ways to draw the head, but these are my preferred ways.
