Boom! Boom! BOOM!
Texas sighed as she heard (and felt) the heavy footsteps approaching her office from outside. "Great. Guess that's Georgia..." she muttered, taking a deep breath and bracing herself for whatever torment the horse had planned for her today.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The sheriff jumped, and again, and again, as the footsteps were now shaking the entire office with each step, her desk bouncing off the floor, causing her name plate to fall off of it. Texas's nerves skyrocketed. "What is this, a dog-dern earthquake?!" she squeaked, stumbling to the floor, her hat falling off her head.
The quakes then stopped. Texas, panting and bemused, slowly and shakily stood back up, putting her hat back on her head and setting her name plate back on her desk. All seemed quiet for the moment. Straightening her badge, she slowly approached the window to see who or what the quaking could've been.
Then it happened...
SMAAAASH!!
The sheriff's vision blurred as she struggled to re-orientate herself, whilst also struggling to figure out what in the world just happened. All she knew was, one moment she was just getting herself ready for another day, most likely another day full of torment from her adversaries three times larger than her. Then, rhythmic ground shaking. Next thing she knew, she was on the floor, with the roof of her office having spontaneously caved in on her, with an immense amount of weight forcing her against what used to be a nice clean floor, and preventing her from moving.
The warped window of her office shone in front of her within arms reach. Too bad, though, that ONLY her arm could reach it. The roof weighed down upon her so much that she simply couldn't drag herself any further, her twitching arm hanging out the window into the sunlight...
... That's when she realized. Her roof is only made of wood. Why did it feel so heavy. Why did it feel as though a mountain had fallen on her?
Then the "mountain" started talking...
"Hee hee! That should do it," a voice high above spoke with a peculiar accent. "That was easy job, no?"
The "mountain" turned out to be a large dinosaur, a Brachiosaurus in fact. She began to grind the pile of wood and splinters beneath her butt against the dirt, either knowing or not knowing a weasel still lay under that rubble, a weasel who now found herself in a lot of pain, at this point desperately trying to pull herself out the window, but with no success.
The Brachio continued pondering out loud as she subconsciously shifted around on the flattened office. "Strange though. I wonder why mayor would ask for demolition of sheriff's office in own town... Oh well, probably has good reason. Besides, at least I get paid for easy task!"
Texas groaned. That certainly answered a lot of questions... well, except for one. This wasn't the first time she had been targeted by a dinosaur. Where were they even coming from?
The groan, though, didn't go unnoticed. The Brachio looked back, craning her neck, barely making out a small, brown-furred, twitching arm sticking out of the window. "... Wow, they were right. You ARE durable, darling- err... uh, partner, is how you say? Or... varmit? That's what they call you anyway. Sorry, err, still not used to local speech," she giggled sheepishly.
The sheriff didn't have the strength (or breath) to answer. She could only lie there in agony as the Brachiosaurus nonchalantly gawked at her expense.
Not bothering to wait for an answer, the dinosaur went on. "Well, anyway, name is Bayusha, Ms. Sheriff! Nice to meet you!" Texas only listened, bemused at the gigantic newcomer being so verbally polite whilst crushing her into the ground like dough. Bayusha continued. "Your lovely Mayor Vivian told me to introduce myself, like this. I hope I did good! Did I?"
'Why is she asking ME that?!' Texas thought, flustered, and letting out a pained grunt.
Bayusha, again, didn't wait for an answer. "Ooh, grunt. Means I DID do it right! Mmhmhm!"
Texas was speechless, and not just because she was too out of breath to talk.
"But uh..." Bayusha continued again, "Mayor did say 'press harder' if you still move. So err... nothing personal, darl- err, varmit, but mayor has pretty coin bag with my name on it!"
And with that, the sitting pressure increased, the grinding continued, and Texas could only lie there and take it with no say in the matter.
Another day in Gold Springs for Sheriff Texas...
Commission for
. Somehow dinosaurs keep appearing and are being sent to deal with Texas, who meets another one, this time being Bayusha.
An absolute treat this was!
You know, I just had a thought... how come Kaijuly isn't a thing?
