The North-Elysian Dire Weasel is a large mustelid that prowls through the forests of North-West Elysium and is particularly prominent on the islands near the mainland. There it serves as an apex predator, easily capable of taking down Shrub Griffins and Pigmy Tapirs, as well as the occasional Devil Monkey. While not as openly aggressive as the latter, the weasel is a master of stealth, able to silently stalk its prey and deliver a deadly bite to the back of its head in a mere blink of an eye.
Adventurers need to be very wary of this creature; not only is it stealthy but also devilishly fast and agile. Being able to dodge and weave in between weapon strikes, this monstrous mustelid is more than capable of wearing down an unprepared fighter. Much like Earth's bears, if the Dire Weasel learns that it can kill a human, it will become a man-eater.
