Maul is a very simple person. He is violence, wrath, and brutality molded into an expert killer Siberian brown bear/polar bear hybrid firmly loyal to Monarch. Having served as a hitman for an Old World Mafia before needing to flee, he came into the lion's service as his henchman in exchange for a place to call home and being able to continue doing the dirty deeds he so enjoyed. When Imperious made a bond with Monarch, so did Imperious' minion Savage. Maul and Savage get along as well as Sanguine and Riot, a deeply concerning thing when in battle.
Sanguine and Savage are, to complicate things further, brothers. Insofar as such beings can be to our understanding of the term. Little more need be said of Maul, save that he has his moments of tranquility where he can be found contentedly gardening. Though one shouldn't ask where the fertilizer that makes his beloved plants grow so well comes from.
