OK, so I got a foam head from someone, who got it from someone else. I can't remember what the original species was on it, but it had eyes that were really hard for me to look through because they were widely spaced and off to the side. So in typical Anaktis "hack and slash" fashion, I butchered the head itself and cobbled it together with a Darth Vader mask. The eyes will be painted on the plastic lens, so that's all good. However, there is a major problem- I don't know how to fur this properly, and I'm afraid I'll end up wasting what little fake fur I have by messing up furring it. I really want to try to do this, but part of me thiks I should just wait until FF itself, and see about getting help there. I'd like to be in the fursuit parade this year If I can. If I do decide to just take it to the con, I'll just lug all my sewing equipment with me.

Sadly, when i moved to Paris, TX, I lost a lot of options. Still, I may make a side-trip to Denton to check the hair/wig supply store. I really hope I can find how to properly fur this and make it look somewhat passable (as you can tell, I don't have much faith in my own abilities, costume-wise. My RenaMutation costume to me was a lucky fluke).
What I did was:
1) Cover it in tape piece by piece, then mark what parts will be what (So that the fabric and curve, etc)
2) Take off the tape pieces and cut into patterns OR, go straight onto the fur
3) Make sure the fur is facing the way you want it to (Meaning the direction it naturally goes on the fabric), then cut
4) Apply with hot glue or sew
I'm not going to lie...making suits involves making mistakes...so don't be afraid to mess up...
