Howdy once again all! So I pulled another drawing from the pile of previous artwork that was I wanted to post. This is from Illustration 285 which has about 6 other drawings which are in various states of staging from basic sketch to finished lines. However, we are talking of Lycia....so lets dive in.
Lycia was always an odd kobold to begin with. In universe, kobolds of different scale coloration who mate produce offspring with either parents coloration never both.....Lycia was born from a Red-Scale and a Copper-Scale.....which raised many a question. However...that was not all that was different. As she grew up she started to sprot nubs on her back which became a pair of small gliding wings, but then as she became an adult....they also grew to the full draconic wings. Many of the Kobolds in the local area thought she might be a dragon reincarnated (since dragons in my canon have left this plane of existence millennia ago) and began to worship her as such, giving her the Scale Name Shehadnock which translates to in the Common Tongue as Royal-Scale. Since she was already a shy one, picked up her stuff and left to find a quite place to do what she wanted instead of be waited on by her fellow kobolds.
