I really suck at drawing equines. This one seems to be part giraffe....
This drawing was actually inspired by a customer at the shop I work in. She was buying a hatbox for Ascot (she was in the Royal Enclosure) and took great pains to earnestly inform me that her hat was 'serious business'.
I want to go to the milliners now....

Hilarious that someone things a hat is serious XP I dunno what to say about how to draw the face differently, I never use reference anyway >>; Maybe if you made the rest of the face smaller than the jaw, 'cause the back of the jaw where it meets the neck is pretty large on horses from what I remember...
To be fair, an invitation to the Royal Enclosure is a fairly impressive thing and etiquette does state that under such cirumstances a hat is de rigeur... but the conversation was so utterly bizarre it still cracks me up even now.
I think I need to look at more photos of horses, especially the jawline to really work out how to draw them well, but thatnks for the suggestion.
