Here are some WIP shots for the Stoic Trinity ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5257056/ ) Moving from left to right the first shot at the top shows the rough layout of things. In the next shot some trees started growing and some fog moved in. Then some snow came down, I built a roof on the castle and planets appeared in the sky. After that I put in a happy little lizzard in the corner down there and some pineish branches. Then I just had to add the little climbers and refine things in general and it was done! When I set out to paint this I already knew I was going to put in all those details but I like to put them in after I get some of the background down. Layering up more paint for the items in the foreground and leaving the sky in thin coats adds some contrast to the texture of things.
