Another of the style of chapter I've always liked. I think I said on a previous occasion that I enjoy reading sections like this, where there are (once Ciara is rescued, at least) no major shocks in terms of great events, but where we get to learn more about the characters themselves. I like Alana more and more, as you'll probably be pleased to hear, and I don't think I've ever come across a (part-)margay character before, which makes her more interesting still.
I rather liked this one, too. It seemed like a nice little break after some of the previous chapters, and it was a good opportunity for character development and to strengthen the friendship that was already growing between the two of them. Margays do seem to be quite rare, and I don't think I've ever found another margay hybrid like Alana. But I'm very fond of the little cats. I'd even go so far as to say they're my very favorite wild cat.
