In ancient times, when gargoyles stood in steadfast guard over scottish dominion, the sorcerous Magus worked in secret on a way to channel the power of the warrior beasts into human shells.

Lost to the ages, his creation remained buried in ruins for centuries, until a curious explorer, researching the history of ancient castles, stumbled upon a cold amulet deep in the bowels of an abandoned chapel.

Upon wearing it, his body was wracked with the ancient power, the amulet extinguishing its magical energy to make the man's muscles swell, tearing apart his clothing, as a muscular tail tore from his rear, and his feet stretched and hardened into mighty claws. Bending over in agony, his skin turning hard and red, the man could only gasp in agony as gigantic wings sprouted from his back, his features shifting into the rugged hardness of a gargoyle warrior.

Many hours later awoke, his new body sleek and shining in its naked strength. Gathering the discarded scraps of his human clothing into a crude loincloth, he left the chapel and took to the skies to meet his destiny.
