Really beautiful fur. I'm amazed by the detail that you create in tiny spaces like 3"x4" con badges and nuts. Nuts!! How big are those tagua nuts?

The biggest are just 2" tall. Usually around 1 1/2". I have a tiny needle tool and similar sized paintbrush that I use for those. :) And my scanner eats a lot of the details, amazingly enough. I know I'm a bit crazy, but I love it. :)

I know what you mean by the fascination of working with tiny objects at great precision. In my research, I've worked with microelectrodes smaller than a wavelength of light in diameter - so small that you can stick many of them into a single cell without harming it. I'm a bit crazy, too. Asperger's in my case. I can't remember names or faces worth a darn, but my love of taking things apart into the smallest possible pieces and then putting them back together again makes scientific research a great pleasure, though my art is quite eccentric...

That is awesome! I was a biology major before I changed over to art in my third year - I would have really enjoyed working in a lab. I have enough interests for too many lifetimes, I fear!
I work part time at a hospital that is massively invested in research and it just fascinates me. It's amazing the work being done in all areas of medical research right now. :) Kudos to you for working in the field!
