Sometimes~ little caregivers gotta make it work~ Enjoy this story~
It was the middle of summer. A beautifully hot day, the sun was out en force and so were the multitudes of people enjoying their days. Here is where she sat, in her comic shop, counting down the seconds until she could close up and enjoy her time at home. Giving a wistful sigh she flitted her round ears, nose and whiskers twitching as she looked out the window.
“Excuse me, miss? Can you tell me where to find this book?”
Snapping out of her thoughts, the small mouse shook her head; she had been daydreaming again while waiting to get out of work as was the case most days on her last half hour. Looking around though, she couldn’t find the source of the voice, climbing fully onto the large desk she started walking to the front of it looking down.
Standing just below with a wide grin, a small polar bear cub was standing there holding up a comic book to her. Giving him a grin right back, the small mouse held up a paw telling him to wait, jumping back onto her desk and running over, nearly slipping on some of her paperwork as she climbed into a small elevator. Lowering the rope to the ground floor, she rang a small bell as she arrived on the ground floor with a giggle.
Making her way around the counter, she gave the cub a smile and nod as she reached up to take his paw. The mouse, her name tag reading Gabbie Tolls, stood nearly to the kids waist. Being a house mouse, one of the smaller fur species, it made finding work hard, much less starting your own business but against all odds she had done it. Not alone mind you; her wonderful mate had helped her out quite a bit.
As they made their way to the particular comic section, she couldn’t help but grin. The Avengefurs were a very popular item these days and seeing the boy’s eyes light up brought her such joy quite frankly made it all worth it. Looking towards his much taller Father, she gave a gentle nod to the price sticker of the comic, taking the large bill as he handed it to her, giving a small nod as the man waved to her and took his son on his shoulders, closing the till and watching as they left the store.
Stretching and nodding, noting that they were her last customers for the day, Gabbie walked to the door, making her way up the small ladder, turning the latch and using her thin tail to flick the lightswitch. Grabbing her nearby coat off the rack she opened a smaller door located next to the big door’s lock and climbed out into the warm late afternoon. Sliding down the ladder on the other side, the mouse smirked gently reaching for her phone.
“I’m on my way home, baby boy.”
With a pep in her stride the young mouse got onto her scooter, a device built by her dearly beloved, riding off after placing her helmet on. Gabbie grinned a bit as she felt her phone vibrate; someone certainly was excited~
It took her almost an hour to reach home. As fast as her scooter was relative to her size, they still lived quite a few miles from her shop. The sun was lower in the sky, she noting it was about 6 p.m. as she shot a text to her Mate while walking towards the door. Opening her smaller door and stepping inside, she was met with thundering footfalls and a loud boisterous voice.
“Mommyyyyy, you’re home!”
Giggling as she was suddenly plucked up, Gabbie found herself not staring into the eyes of a child, but those of her Mate. The large gray wolf grinned at her behind the green pacifier that bobbed in his mouth. He looked more like an overgrown toddler than anything else, though this was normal as the mouse smiled and reached up petting him behind the ears.
“Yes, baby boy. Mommy is home nice and safe~ Now, you know the rules, let me down and unsnap your onesie.”
Nodding as he set her back on the ground, he unsnapped the poppers on his green and blue onesie, his tail wagging behind him as the thick white diaper hung low between his knees. The mouse’s nose twitched at the smell of stale urine; clearly he had been in these a while.
Giving a small sigh, she reached up to grip the front of the diaper, giving it a nice firm smoosh, pointing towards their living room.
“Get your soggy butt in there, Mommy’s got a puppy to change~”
Drooping his ears gently, the young man couldn’t hide his smile as he flopped down on the nearby changing pad. Gabbie took her time rifling through the basket, grabbing some powder, a few wipes, and a large diaper about her size alone, the thick cloth backing felt soft as she hefted it over to the waiting ‘baby’.
“Alright sweetheart, help mommy up real quick~”
Grabbing her in a paw, Gabbie found herself set onto the front of her puppy’s diaper. Reaching for the large tape, she lifted it with both paws making for a satisfying RIP sound as the tape gave way. Walking to the other, she gave a small grin doing the same to the other side, though this time holding onto the tape as she jumped down off the wolf’s diaper, letting the diaper fall open.
With practiced paws, she grabbed the wipes and started cleaning around his diaper area. She made quick work of getting him cleaned up before tossing the used wipes into the used diaper, rolling them all up making sure to tape it tightly into a ball.
Grabbing the new diaper, she smiled and walked around it, gripping the top and unfolding it, grabbing the powder and hefting it up onto her shoulder as she wiggled it and danced, shaking some into the diaper. Grinning up at the large baby boy she winked.
“Alright little mister, lift up for mama~”
Wagging his tail, he obliged as she grabbed the back of the diaper, pulling it backwards underneath his bottom, reaching up and giving a small pat with her paws before climbing out from underneath onto it, stepping softly over the cushy material. Leaving puffs of powder in her wake, she grabbed the front of the diaper before looking back to him.
“Alright buddy, time to lift off just like one of your rockets~”
As she felt him gently grip her, she gripped tightly to the top of the diaper, making sure to make some whooshing noises like an airplane until her footing found the top of his stomach. Keeping his paw in place, the mouse scurried down while gripping a tape and with a rip, held it in her muzzle as she climbed back up to place the tape down. After doing the same for the other side, she grabbed the flap of the onesie, using it to lower herself down and snapping it up so that it held the diaper taut.
“And that’s one puppy changed! Now, I dunno about you, but Mama is pretty hungry. How about we get some dinner?”
With that said, she started making her way to the kitchen, giving a little smirk at the puppy as he started to get up, a teasing look on her lips as she looked thoughtful for a bit.
“I think tonight, I’ll make some spaghetti.”
His ears perked up at the mention of his favorite food, the wolf quickly made his way up and started following her into the kitchen. His tail was wagging fast, clearly very excited as he looked at the mouse.
“But for you… I think some pureed peas will do~”
