Walking with your lil friend:
A thud. Lupus took a step forward down the dirt pathway in his backyard with a beaming smile on his face. Rosy cheeks and a grin from cheek to cheek. The wolf’s snow white tail swished idly as Lupus took in the expansive green fields. Rolling valleys and luscious emerald vegetation stretched to the horizon. Nature was sculpted to perfection all around the white wolf who marched with purpose down the dirt path. Two sapphire eye’s took in the picturesque landscape, admiring the elegant beauty with a deep exhale. Back straight and head forward, the once 83 foot macro wolf relaxed in his smaller stature. Apart from the trees in the cottage behind, Lupus was the tallest person around even at 6 feet.
It was peaceful. Quiet.
Yet, that sentiment was not extended to Blue. The blue and white wolf awoke in a bizarre landscape surrounded with green pillars and boulders. Blue’s eyes investigated the unusual jade structures that arose to meet the heavens. He stood with his eyes focused skyward. Confused and curious, the blue and white canine hovered a paw over the ground and took a step forward until…
THOOOOOMMM!!!!
A tremor rocked the ground, nearly knocking Blue off foot before he stumbled back. The thunderous noise vibrated through the wolf's innards, whilst his eyes watched the green pillars shake from the earthquake. Hesitantly, Blue returned to making the next step and walked through the expansive greenery.
THOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!!
Another quake struck the disoriented canine once more. An explosion that rattled Blue’s eardrums momentarily as he fought for balance. Then, a third quake struck.
And a forth
A fifth
A sixth…
Seismic booms persisted to plague the landscape, rocking the stalks of green above. What sounded like a series of explosions occurred at a rhythmic pattern and climbed up the Richter scale. Those heavy boulders around bounced and bounded in obedience. The world was rumbling around Blue who turned around and caught a glimpse of the source.
His jaw dropped.
First it was an enclosing shadow that arose into the air. A towering person-shaped silhouette moved towards him at the speed of a jet. As the monstrous figure moved closer, their detail’s were crystalline. What was revealed left Blue speechless. Almost paralyzed as he watched a being of humongous proportions cover distances that would insult any modern vehicle.
Blue’s eyes were focused on a black Converse shoe the height of buses that ploughed forward with a series of thuds. Connected to the immense footwear were a set of muscular snow-white pillars that stretched into the sky. Two fluffy beanstalks that arose to meet his blue shorts and black crop-top. Past the beings toned chest, Blue glanced at the beings snow-white head and cobalt eyes. A familiar visage that warmed the tiny canine’s heart as he muttered the name “Lupus-”.
Lupus rocked Blue’s word with every well-placed planting of his converse. His snow-fur legs were pistons that propelled the wolf further down the dirt pathway, leaving a trail of shoeprints. The shoe treads planted deep into the ground, moulding it to match the Converses’ lined pattern. Despite the size, Blue greeted his friend with a tender smile and a wave into the sky.
“HEY LUPUS, DOWN HERE!” Blue projected to the landmark sized canine. Expecting to hear that sublime British accent boom from above, the little wolf wasn’t greeted with a single reaction from Lupus.
“OKAY LUPUS, YOU HAD YOUR FUN. I’M DOWN HERE!!!” Blue shouted louder to summon the strolling white wolf who’s converse cast shadow over him. “WAIT WAIT! LUPUS! LOOK DOWN!!!”
Still, there was no reaction from Lupus who prepared to take another step. Lupus’ eyes persisted to admire nature’s magnificence, oblivious to his shrunken friend standing under his shoe. From below, Blue could only stare at the expansive converse treads and the number ‘12’ inscribed on its base.
Lower and lower the footwear descended towards Blue. No reaction nor twitch covered Lupus' visage as he stepped down once more. An innocuous action, one he had repeated countless times before. Only this time it was with his friend on the impact site. What was seconds for Lupus, was countless moments that had Blue shouting to his mountainous-sized friend before it landed.
As the Converse struck the ground, its treads penetrated the ground around Blue. In front of him and behind, the miniscule canine stared at the parallel walls of treads that entrapped him. “Lupus-?” was all Blue could stomach to say, whilst he took in the view.
Except, that was short lived when a tread wall dug back to scoop Blue off the ground. In an instant, the blue and white wolf extended arms and legs to cling between the treads. Gnashing his teeth, he held on as Lupus’ foot uplifted. Hoisted high into the air, Blue watched the ground abandon him as the snow-white wolf walked. Carried away on Lupus’ morning stroll, he stared at the passing greenery before he met the ground again and again.
“Hmmm, wonder if Blue’s around for our walk?” Lupus cooed, slipping both hands in his pockets. Both those cobalt eyes sparkled in admiration of the scenery, but unbeknownst to him that his friend was experiencing a new ride. A shoe roller-coaster.

This is probably one of my favorite drawings and stories I've seen. The unaware scenarios are something that I'm still exploring and I'm happy to have found this piece on that journey of unaware exploration! Plus, the artic wolf being goofily oblivious yet innocent as ever is always adorable to see.
