Omi the crocodile helps maintain the "server swamps" -- a literal swamp full of large, sprawling trees infused with nanites which host the dataspace that serves as my world's successor to the Internet. Stored within these trees are entire virtual worlds full of AIs, along with all manner of knowledge and resources.
Naturally, as these are still trees, they require periodic trimming and other maintenance to maintain their purpose. Branches need to be cut; dead trees need to be uprooted; and the nanites need to be calibrated. Omi usually brings along saws as well as multimeters and electronics to aid in this.
Also helping him on this run are his younger brother Kappy and their friend, Vince the cockroach.
