"Heh, check it out! Someone trying to fiddle with their tapes to try and record us!"
"O-oh dear. Wait, what are you going to do with them?"
"Not much, just want to get a better look at 'em."
"Just try to not hurt them, alright?"
"I won't, I promise!"
Heh, fair to say that during my time playing Cassette Beasts, I found myself liking a couple of critters from it. The Southpaw and Palangolin specifically, which these two are new characters of. Don't have names for them quite yet, but will say that they have a red oni, blue oni shtick between them. The southpaw's the red, while the palangolin's the blue. As for how they got this big...could write it up as New Wirrel being a little quirky at that particular moment. >u>
Both figures there belong to me.

Think of it as an indie Pokemon game, but with actual strategy behind the moves and typings. Instead of 'do more damage against a weak type', it's more like...
Use fire on a plastic type monster and it'll become a poison type.
Or...
Use electricity on a metal type and make them conductive, dealing damage every time they act, more so if their partner's also conductive.
Ooor...
Using water on an ice type will strengthen its defenses.
Combined with how each critter can have up to eight moves by default, or a mix of actions and passives, it can really offer up a good bit of variety no matter which critter you use, if you factor in their stats as well.

I might check that out or at least look it up. It sounds like it revolves more around status effects and changing the equivalent of the type chart then Pokémon does. And I'd say there is actual strategy in Pokémon as competitive battlers would tell you, just that there's more detailed strategy in Cassette Beasts.
