The Fourth of July had arrived. Remy and his family headed down into town for the annual parade.

His father wanted to get down early so they could find a parking space. When they found one, they pulled right in. They got out of their car, walked over to the main road and waited.

Soon all was ready, and the parade started. It was led by two soldiers in uniform carrying large American flags.

Following behind were people dressed in military costumes from the 1770's. They beat large drums as they marched along with the soldiers.

Remy watched in admiration and waved his miniature flag.

When the parade ended, they would return home and get ready for the fireworks display that night.
