150 watchers: 122 Scyther
I’m doing the 150 pokémon for my first 150 FA watchers. This follow notification came in on September 28, 2019 while I was crunching the numbers on my new responsibility as “transport strategist”.

To say Kile’s watch notification helped with my stress would be a huge understatement. I’d been seeing the art he was commissioning for a while, so he was basically famous to me!
For Kile, I chose the pose of the bug catcher in the Pokémon Yellow manual, mainly because I’d already done the battle sprite with my last Scyther skech. No, there aren’t any bug catcher Scyther trainers in Gen 1, but Scyther always felt like the most emblematic bug Pokémon to me.
Arguably, the main difficulty here was the hat. I was admant on not punching ear holes in it which made it hard to position properly. I’d already learned a lot about the other “bug catcher implements” with my last drawing.
For Scyther, the hardest things were positioning its scythes in a way that were both visible when standing behind its trainer, and showed he was ready for battle. I think I found a good compromise!
As with the twitter sketches, if you want yours colored, or if you want one like this for yourself, I'll happily do it for $5 (not counting shading)
