And THERE lies the tough part for parents. YOUR best or your children's... I don't have kids, but I had parents who wanted a thorough combination of both for me. They wanted me to be the best I can be, and still do as they did and wind up with more than they had at my age (41).

I had a parent who wanted me to be the Cheerleader and marry a rich man, they cared about little else.. My other parent wanted me to do what made me happy and follow my dreams, but also instilled good work ethic and 'there is always room to learn more'.
One parent brags about your accomplishments as if they accomplished them... the other is just proud that they taught their child well.
The lines can become blurred... They all amount to "I want you to do your best." but the "Why" behind it.. weighs heavily on the outcome.
