I've been having difficulties with my computer over the past year and it's getting worse.
It often shut down on its own when I'm playing video games or rendering scenes in Blender.
Recently I had an error with my graphics card and the computer crashed.
I've looked all over the internet for solutions, I tried reinstalling the drivers, I've changed the PSU, I've added Fans, I've cleaned up the dust, and I've changed the wiring, but nothing seems to work.
If you're willing to help me financially, here's 3 ways to do so

I don't think I ever had a Blue Screen,
Instead, the computer simply shut down as if there was a power cut for a fraction of a second, and occasionally start back on by itself.
It's like someone accidentally pressed the reset button.
I looked up crash logs and all it shows was the PC was turned off unexpectedly.
Temperature seems adequate as well. nothing out of the ordinary.
I had one crash recently when I was playing factorio and I was taken out of the game and there was an error message, something about the graphics card being unplugged or idk,
The screen then turned black, I had to restart the PC myself.
That's what got me scared and convinced me that I should make the Crowdfunding campaign

Oh yeah my mistake
I used to have a 750W PSU
I've upgraded it to a 1000W
Here's the model:

computer shuts off immidately and suddenly. Most likely cause = overheating, solution, examine CPU fan, replace or just replace thermal paste.
computer blue screens and shuts off, most likely cause is a driver error, reinstalling gpu drivers or rolling back to a previous state are the options, nuking it from orbit and reinstalling windows is also an option.
there can be other reasons for these two shutdowns, but in my specific case working on pc's since the early 90s is what i'd start with, replacing a cpu fan and paste is like 20~40$

May I ask what type of graphics card you got? AMD or GeForce? Because I had the same issue. I had an AMD gpu and it kept on crashing due to the wattman on the main AMD desktop app. Kept getting wattman errors causing it to crash and is forced to restore to factory settings every time it’s rebooted. I was forced to buy a new GPU unfortunately but I tried every fix I could
Right now I have 32gb of Ram, so it's alright
My GPU is a RTX 2070, it's alright, but I'm often reaching its limit, (running out of memory which prevents me from rendering some scenes)
Though, I should also learn to optimize an render on multiple layers too... that would help
My CPU is not great though. it's a simple I5 I got a while back.

Looking at your gofundme description, You aim for something like an i7 13th gen, which is nearly top tier for gaming, not as much for work productivity as a Ryzen would be. And if your VRAM would be the cause, either Yes, try to optimize the app to not utilize ALL the VRAM available, as it makes the PC goes stuttery. Or maybe you should probably get one of those recent AMD GPUs instead since they have a lot more VRAM for the prices they are. Nvidia has recently been terrible with the handling of GPU memories and price value. The motherboard COULD be the cause. But as a whole, I'm pretty sure you ONLY need to change the CPU and Motherboard
Yeah, the image I posted was just for demonstration.
I plan to read and search around and see what I can get for a decent price based on my needs.
I do want a decent I7 because I am playing games and ofc, I use the CPU in some aspects when rendering too.
As for the graphics card, I want to stick with Nvidia primarily due to how insane it is at rendering. Cycle has been quite optimized and practically run in real time on the 3080 model

I had this same problem and it ended up with me having to warranty the gpu (which took months). I had a 10700kf and a 3090.
I had a cheap gpu lying around that let me swap it out to confirm that was the issue though.
If you do want a chunky scene rendered in HD though, don't be afraid to give me a shout in the meantime.

if you're packing a 2070 with a reference (blower cooler) I would start there.
If you checked the logs and it shows unexpected shutdown and you're not getting random write or file reference errors somethings is causing a hard fault.
If what you mentioned before you seen an error related to GPU removed be careful as that runs directly off the system buss and if it happens enough it might start damaging other components on the PCI buss. Like the PCI lane on the chipset(motherboard), or on the CPU.
(It's not as scary as it sounds, but can cause long term issues.)
Find a cheap (not 'cheap' 'cheap' "read reviews") 3060 and pop it in your system.
You can get them for about 300bucks and they are near the performance of the 2070, but run much cooler and suck up WAY less power. So, you'll save on your energy bill in the long run also.
Take this advise with a grain of salt however.
I'm missing some details to make an accurate diagnosis and I based it off the details you provided in the thread thus far and the odds of you having a reference 2070 style card that are known to have degrading stability issues with high loads.
... yeah ref blower cards blow...
Other possible causes.
It could be you have a short or fault causing noise in your motherboard.
This could be a faulty motherboard it self or just something as simple as a mechanical hard drive that's starting to fail and introducing noise to the system, the chipset fan quit working, the wires from the power supply are tucked in close to the motherboard causing noise(This is rare and often only happens with cheap power supplies), a worn or blown capacitor/resistor or other component.
Some basic stuffs that prevents gremlins from showing up.
1. Make sure your PC isn't on carpet and is properly grounded.
(This means all the screws are installed on the board, and the power cable has all three pins.)
2. Make sure wires are managed, but not tightly packed or zip tied.
(NEVER use the metal twist/bread ties to manage wires!)
3. Make sure there is nothing that introduces hard vibrations to your case.
(Case fan vibrating, Box fan on top case, kicking case with your feet, Bad/clicking HDD, subwoofers.)
I know that's a bit winded, but hopefully informative.
I've worked in IT too long so, I'm very unbiased when it comes to computer hardware.
Feel free to msg me. I might not reply quick, but I'll help you get your rig stable or at least help you save money on the repairs if you want to go that route.
Keep up the great work Racf!
