my cat died yesterday. i didnt find out until the evening since she's actually my friends' cat but she was mine too. she was such a sweetheart and we only had her for a month and a half but life was different with her and its different again without her.

the vet trip where we found out she had jaundice was also the one where we found out she was actually a boy! we just decided she was our boygirl cat and used whatever pronouns because come on. its a cat.
since we hadn't had her for long when she was diagnosed, she probably had jaundice the whole time we knew her. she only showed signs of suffering the last week she was alive, but that was a really sad thing to see from her. she was such a friendly and talkative cat that loved to play and cuddle, but then she stopped eating and stopped moving barely at all and stopped talking. i know she was in a lot of pain and i wish we could have done more just to ease that in her final days. i can only hope she felt comforted by our presence and affection.

i havent had a pet die since 2013. my cat gloria got hit by a car and it destroyed me. she's still my desktop background and i have a folder of every picture i can find of her. now i have a muffin folder, too.
