I was wondering why she didn't just drive the truck there, then I remembered that it probably got disabled when that sniper round hit the engine. Anyway, this was a good comic.

Here's what I'm wondering: Would it have been easier to put the truck in neutral and drag that?

Truck is substantially heavier, even with wheels.

Also, that plan would go to shit the moment you had to go down a hill.

Wouldn't uphill be more problematic? Downhill at least should still have working steering and brakes, if it came to that, shouldn't it?

Alright, now imagine this for me. You're pulling a wheeled vehicle at the top of a slope. At what point do you stop pulling and transition to the driver's seat? Remember, stop too soon, and you're not going anywhere. Stop too late, and you're getting run over.

Somewhat dependant on the gradient of the slope, though even so, you only need to get it to that tipping point where balance is in favour of going downhill. Stopping too soon isn't much of a fail state, since you can resume pulling, though of course overcoming inertia again would be a... bother. Though I'm working off the assumption of having the strength to get the thing rolling without engine support in the first place.

...come to think of it, though, curves would be annoying to handle as well, wouldn't they? You wouldn't really be able to lock the wheels in one direction easily, I imagine, and even if you did, you'd have to either get the turn radius right on the first go or have to keep stopping to go back and adjust...

...yeah, maybe just dragging the pallet was the easier option.
