I wanted Lullaby (a sweet 1980's skunk who brings sweet dreams) to have a rival/evil counterpart. Enter Bump, a cynical, alienated 1990's Tasmanian devil who brings nightmares.
I haven't drawn or commissioned any official art of Bump yet, so this is just some quick-and-dirty concept art using an editable ref sheet by
zhivagod to get the idea across.

Bump is a hot-tempered young Tasmanian devil who snoozes by day and sows nightmares and discord by night, taking out his anger and alienation on innocent dreamers. He is the counterpoint and arch-rival to Lullaby: 90's to her 80's, sullen to her sweet, Grunge to her New Wave, Boogeyman to her Sandman.
Physical description: A short male Tasmanian devil with long, disheveled hair and a perpetual frown. He has red eyes and protruding canine teeth. His fur and hair are black, with desaturated brown markings and a white blaze on his chest. He dresses in tattered early 90's Seattle Grunge style clothes (band T-shirts, flannel, ripped jeans, Chuck Taylor sneakers, etc.) When especially angry, he can transform into a larger, more monstrous, werewolf-like version of himself.
Stuck with the body and mind of an angsty, uncoordinated teenager, Bump is unhygienic and prone to clumsiness. The first signs of his presence are a pungent smell and a sudden, unexplained crash or thud at an ungodly hour— a literal "bump in the night."
Bump will be one of my featured characters for Art Fight 2023.
