Even though Ink Eevee can switch between Eeveelutions, they're still curious about other Pokémon 👀
The Umbreon they've met possessed a mysterious aura and an elegant yet enigmatic presence.
Ink Eevee didn't reach this form yet - they had been a mischievious flame, burning with fiery passion; they had been a flexible water, clear, pure and honest. They even took a form of ice, when the reality made them turn their heart cold.
But... they've never been an Umbreon. How can one do this?

This piece was originally inspired by Pokémon TCG cards featuring Umbreon, Espeon, and Eevee. In the old cards, you can see them standing on ancient ruins.
Additionally, I wanted to capture the odd mix of emotions that accompanied me while drawing this piece: the anticipation of a new adventure, the sense of building something new from ruins, and a glimmer of hope.

Oh gosh, you are referring to the Neo Discovery era eeveelution cards aren't you? That's quite the throwback! I have those sitting in a drawer by my bed.
Pokemon cards from that time period were definitely inspiration to learn how to draw!

Yeah, exactly these! I didn't know how they were called, I just remembered the ruins and soft connection between all three.
Oh goodness, really? That's so cool!! Pokemon were - and still are - my huge inspiration and my comfort zone <3
As for the ears, yeah XD "closed" ears wouldn't fit my style - I aspire to a semi-realistic anatomy, which means I need to translate simplified Pokemon shapes into more natural ones haha.

Darkness and evil simmering in the heart is what will bring out the Bree from the Ink Eevee.
Cold Apathy will have you freezing over with a "Glacii!"
Exciting thoughts incite the Jolteon while Burning passion turns on the Flareon.
Forethought summons the Espy. Creativity gets the Sylvie.
Clearing the mind evokes the Vaporeon. Filling the mind with care for others sprouts a Leafeon.
