While it wasn’t meant to be with Humphrey around, I like to think that (mainly thanks to Lilly fixing Garth’s howl) if Kate had gone through with it, preventing Tony’s wrath and marrying Garth, they’d have eventually grown at least some affection for each other in a stable and, maybe even living relationship. Can’t say the same for Kate and Lilly’s relationship though…
