Well considering Lori begains Blacktapesty looking back at all of her mistakes at the beginning, whatever Endy does, can't be permanent for Lori.

So whatever Endy does, we know Lori will be alive well after it and probably feels bad about that. Still, that's one heck of a work around Endy has to get around.

I feel like this is part of a gambit on the side of Lorelei.

Sisari would probably have taken over someone whether they wanted it or not. Lorelei provided a tempting target on account of her immortality. Lorelei also probably knows that the host has to die to drive Sisari out and she is really the only one who can 'safely' die.
And can present herself as a target to kill without engendering any hestitation on the parts of the people who have to do the killing.

I can imagine folks having a harder time having to kill, for example, Niixa's dad if he were the one posessed.

I've been anticipating a gambit along similar lines for some time... but not from Lore herself, and not in the way Sisari expects.
