As far as artistic representations go? This is pretty impressive. I watched this documentary about a teenager who grew up blind, and most people couldn't even tell by looking at him. He could walk around, work around the house and even play games on a handheld. Way he described it wasn't too far off from this.

He eventually did learn how to use a cane, though. Even echo-location couldn't help him with unfamiliar environments. Lived in the city most of his life, and once he left it for suburbia he kind of had to learn all over again.

He was the center of the documentary I mentioned earlier. I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you want to hear about someone who really used echolocation in a similar fashion.
