The Character also legitimately turns these colors during their musical number "Cotton Candy." She seems to change palettes often, including one that makes her look more "bee-like" in the sense that her clothes become darker and her hair and pelt becomes even more golden throughout.
I'm almost certain that Vivzie intended this particular set of colors as a direct reference to her original music video "We're Gonna Die Young."
