No worries, I get asked that a LOT LOL.
Pretty much, there are quite a few people who enjoy having characters for whatever reason, but don't like making em' themselves. People buy characters like this to use for whatever purpose they like (it could be rp, building their own stories, or just a subject to commission/draw themselves). Some people just buy character designs 'cause they like the characters hahah!
