Breathing world
Possibly the masterpiece of this year, and a nice introductory image for lore-related work. I decided to take on a complex painting to challenge myself a little and get those rusty cogs turning. Quite pleased with the result.

Better wear a hazard suit and effective weapon with yourself then, the surface is full of "zombified" animals that love fresh meat and, every now and then, the central black hole still rains bursts of gamma radiation upon the planet. Don't want to become one of those creatures if you accidentally breathe in spores that grow inside of your body.
The only friendly life forms that exist are underground where it's safe-er, what you see in the image is actually a very large cave. :)
Though I would be surprised if the sentient planet itself allows visitors outside the entity's knowledge. The bacteria other alien life carries with itself can after all cause an ecologic catastrophe on other worlds.

The detail is beautiful and inspires awe. It makes me wonder what it sounds like there, what it smells like. I saw that it is a very dangerous and toxic environment. Sometimes when I see your world building it reminds me of my own alien design and world, though I lack the energy any more to put it into art.
Over the past 10+ years I've been working on an alien race (and subraces) as well as a home planet and extensive lore. I haven't done much to bring it to life, however. Also, I suffer from chronic illness that has recently made creating any art and writing difficult for me. It saddens me to put these creations to rest but there just isn't anything else I can do about it. I sometimes find myself vicariously reliving the creative process of bringing a universe to life through your beautiful art and storytelling.
