This closeup of my Tejas cigar box guitar (CBG) shows off the beautiful deep wine finish and grain of the wooden box. It is a 4-string electric and you can see the volume and tone control knobs in this photo. CBGs typically come with either three or four strings, have open tuning (this one is in open G), and are often played with a slide. I’m going to have to do some serious practicing to get proficient with a slide.

This one-of-a-kind instrument was built by hand by Charlie Rehfeld of the Tejas Cigar Box Guitar Company in San Antonio, Texas.
