2023 Anthrocon Panel: Hyenas Real And Imaginary
On Saturday, July 1st, at 10.30-noon, I will be giving a talk at Anthrocon on hyenas, and how I use research on real hyenas to create my characters and story. If you attended my panel last year, I'll be adding some new material I've recently discovered about these endlessly fascinating beasts, plus I'll have some new props for show and tell. I'll be raffling off some prints of my artwork. Best of all, as a presenter, I won't be required to wear a mask this time, so you'll get to see what I really look like! lol
The panel will be in Room 315 at the David Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. Hope to see you there!

Basil Wolverton's Original Lena. If you think this is bad, you should have seen her before she had her hair done!
I have several (digital) Wolverton books and Al Capp's complete Lena story from Li'l Abner. Nobody does anything that good any more!

Good stuff. I loved Wolverton's work. Mad years ago would reprint the early issues. Fun stuff. Also Call did brilliant work. I went to his theme park as a kid. Dogpatch USA. Family vacation to Arkansas and we passed the park. My brother and I asked if we could stop there and Dad went for it
That's one of the reasons I'd like to attend this panel. I'd want to meet yourself, plus your other fans and friends just to discuss how the comic has affected us, our art projects and of course, our collective understanding of Hyenas and anthropomorphic Hena Characters.
Have fun.
