I believe cows are sentient there also and the use of a sentient's milk just wouldn't be right to sell commercially. Mollusk milk is what they probably use since they aren't sentient and squids there have breasts/udders too if I'm not mistaken. They probably have large offshore farms where they keep and milk giant squids.

Ah, then i see no issue if they do that. heck in my version of zootopia i had the characters mention cow's essentially sell their excess milk for extra cash and it's considered a high end food. So i guess the rejection here is because it's from someone he knows. :P

odds are they just live in a world were not all animals are sentient, just the anthro ones. which is a fairly common conceit in furry art and media.

I seem to recall more than a few reptiles and amphibians depicted hereabouts that seem to be equipped with ample mammary glands. And even Disney saw fit to create a main character who is a mollusk and sports a fair set of fun bags. If you can't believe Disney, who can you trust?

I seem to recall a conversation with Jan on this topic, and he said there are sentient and non-sentient animals (including cows) in this universe. The non-sentient ones are also why there are so many cow characters in S&S, they can easily be used as 'extras' when filming out in fields.
