"Wait, what? Only six left?" muttered Buster after a quick checkup on his notepad, as two more interns came in. "There's five missing!"
Two birds this time, a bald eagle and a peafowl.
"Food poisoning, they're at the hospital," explained the eagle. "They're still in observation, they'll be here in three days."
"Food poisoning?"
"They wanted to eat at Chucky's-"
"Ah, say no more," snarked the koala, even doing a v with his fingers. "I went there once, I completely understand."
The eagle sniggered.
The peafowl just chuckled awkwardly, staying slightly behind the other bird.
Between that and his long neck, Buster couldn't help but think back to Daniel, the giraffe who almost took Johnny's place in the troupe back then.
Thank god his neck's shorter, he thought.
"Well, this first week will only be introductions and discovering the theater, you'll help them catch up when they'll be here," decided the koala before introducing once more the troupe.
"Hi all. I'm Aoba Pygarg," replied the eagle.
"And I'm Dominic Argos. Call me Dom," said the peafowl.
