So this is Mar's head so far. This was a temporary finish stage to wear it for a night of bowling with the IdaFurs. I say only temporary because the lower beak was made of paper that I whipped up in 30 min, there are no eyes (well besides my actual eyes), still need to do some trimming of fur, and get a real lower jaw made.
The beak is my most proud part of this. Its made of PaperClay and it absolutely rocks. Sanded down and shaped to look like a hawk beak, a base of primer paint, then my white for the mark on his left side of the beak (its in the pic) and then 3 layers of black to get that great shiny finish that looks amazing. I dropped that beak from 4 feet off the ground onto the concrete of my garage floor and it did not crack, chip, or break so I highly recommend the stuff for beaks or whatever else you plan to make with it.
Mar's almost done, can't wait till he is.
