Individuals touched by the power of a deity are not uncommon in Alsdor, so much so that it draws in such people from faraway lands.

Yani is one such person, blessed at a young age by Nara, goddess of rivers, gold, and love.

Many believe the blessing is the result of his royal bloodline, and he was raised to fill a combined role of prince, high priest, and love guru.

While appreciative of his homeland, he often suffers from wanderlust, and likes to slip away from his duties for months at a time to travel the countryside, Alsdor being one of his favorite destinations.

He is able to will himself into his hippo form, though he doesn't have full control or understanding of his abilities. Sometimes the transformation can come as a result of high emotions, or even dreams.

In this form he stands an impressive 12 feet tall, has immeasurable strength, and nearly impenetrable skin, along with water manipulation magic (which works strongest on rivers, but gets weaker on lakes, oceans, and bays).

However, he's absolutely more of a lover than a fighter. He's always willing to offer relationship advice while basking in the local hot springs.
