I was too busy trying to really figure out if that char design was really ripping off Iron Man or not to notice any other details until I specifically went over to notice anything else.

Very nice work but I can't get over the cheapness of the character being based off someone else's idea.

Oh please. Incorporating one thing (in this case the Arc Reactor) from something you love does not make a character design "cheap." Nowhere does Fleki claim she came up with the idea of the Arc Reactor so it isn't "ripping off Iron Man", and personally I think her entire character design is actually rather lovely.

But why not come up with something new and even more interesting? That's my point, it's so easy to copy someone else's idea.

I see you've come up with amazingly original, unique, speshul-snowflake idea of a dragon-gryphon hybrid! Excuse me while I'm spectacularly unimpressed and point out your unfortunate lack of a leg to fucking stand on.

I don't have my idea copy written, I also did not say that I'm just like "insert name of other DracoGryph character here", Hell I'd really not of even been as bothered if she had said, "oh that's a power cell similar to an arc reactor, I was inspired by Iron man".

My point is she admits to ripping the idea directly from the source, not taking inspiration, admits it's exactly the same as the source she is ripping from. it's just lazy, why not some back story, maybe your character is a tech guru and found a way to improve on the tech or make a similar more efficient power cell?

Maybe the char has a super hero aspect, and their heart produces so much pure energy that in order to contain it they need a control buffer Cell. Ext...

so many fresh ways do so a similar things and still take inspiration from the source. rather then cut and paste.

but why do we need to be hostile about such discussions, I'm not upset, I'm just saying my personal opinion is it's a lack of creativity and imagination to take aspects directly from other people's ideas.
