At the time we had one tube device remaining at home, an early 70's Coronado Color TV (portable/luggable). Actually it was in reality a Matsushita Electric 'badge engineered' set.
Anyway..
At least it went to a good home, my HAM radio teacher from High School. I'd imagine he's long since retired

when i first started learning about electronics, early 60s, it was still mostly vacuum tubes, and those things were pretty common.
i remember there were simplified tube 'sellers' (checkers) in any place that carried them, like the drug and variety store in the little town i was living in at the time.
