This is one of those stories that have been floating in my mind for ages, but I've never actually told. It's a very, very, very early draft, and is better as a display of my live storytelling ability than my writing. I'll finish it properly sometime.

This was for a forum writing game, which wanted 150 words over actual storytelling, so I took it off.

For the uninitiated: Islam has certain prohibitions regarding dogs and pigs, and I was playing to the uniquely furry idea of personal species interacting with current religious ideas.  pearbear observed that it is rather like an Jewish/Israeli family that converted to Islam, living in a conservative Islamic community.
