After a lot of deliberation and comparison and test labels, we've finally come up with the results to our first major label art contest.
The factors we looked for in the artwork were:
-how well it fit with the feel of each individual scent - did it match the given theme?
-how the art will look shrunken down to 2.5" on our labels, some of the super detailed pieces would turn into tiny little blurs at that size.
-the overall quality of the artwork - was it something we could print and feel like we had a finished product?
-the appeal of the artwork outside of the furry fandom - could someone like a relative or co-worker look at the art and relate to it? Anthro doesn't always mean "furry!"
We really tried our hardest to pick the best fit for each scent, and tried to have a wide representation of the artists who entered.
I am so grateful to everyone who participated in this! You guys really gave us a huge challenge to find the best out of so much wonderful art, and I was amazed by all of your talent and creativity.
Congratulations to all of our winners, I'll be in touch to arrange shipping out the prizes.
Looking to the future, we've got lots more scents we'll be rolling out that are going to need artwork very soon, and I'll post information about that as it surfaces.

I'm sooo excited. I really didn't expect to win. :D Someone mentioned to me that all the lines on Mr. Bull wouldn't look nice printed. I dunno if you guys like him as is, and I didn't mention it in my email, but if you guys wanted to crop him down some like to remove his hump and skins (even though I like it) you're free to do that. :3
Yours were a few of the designs that were in the very final cut, actually. I really loved the richness of color on your designs, Sugar Candy especially, but what did it for us on the final was how well the artwork fit in our circular logo template, counting in the way it filled the space and what our text ended up covering. In Sugar Candy's case, the moth we ended up going with just seemed to fill the space better.
If you've got a version of it that's on a blank background with no text on top, we'll need that. I had to work to crop out everything off of it, and ended up chopping off tiny bits of moth all over the place as a result, and I'd like to have a complete moth when we print these. :3
Yay! This contest was a lot of fun, and there were so many awesome submissions *_* I'll definitely be sending you the non-watermarked version of that dragon though, lmao. Dumb question time, since I have two winning entries, do I get to choose two 6-packs of soap or just the one?
