Avery Quinn Burrows (born May 23, 1995) is an American journalist and LGBTQIA+ activist who has served as the 38th White House press secretary since June 5, 2026, under President Edith Vaughn. A member of the Democratic Party, Burrows is the first openly transgender person and the second LGBTQIA+ person to serve in that position. She previously served as the White House communications director from January 2025 to June 2026 and was an advisor for LGBTQIA+ issue for Edith Vaughn's 2024 presidential campaign. Prior to entering politics, Burrows was a reporter for the pro-LGBTQIA+ magazine Out-N-Proud, she was also a contributor for PuffPost, CNC, and CBN.

Man, I can only wish. If we get an openly trans person in office here in the US anytime in my lifetime, it would be a minor miracle! She's a total cutie, too, and this is a lovely picture of her!
Also, it's a little scary to think someone who was born when I was in high school is/will soon be old enough to be in any sort of public office!
