You do a 3d amimation of it and then draw the linework over it to do the animation~?

Yep. Just animated in 3d and draw over it. Otherwise these back plates will melt my brain cells.XD
Because the 3d animation isn't good enough for some bone IK wrong.
And I decide to fix it in a 2d way.
