Marilee is an underrated character in Ample Time, in my opinion.
Yes, she can be judgmental and oblivious to how she makes people feel but she's also determined, skilled and awkward in a relatable way.
Her flaws just make me love her more.
I think Ripple's constant self comparison with others hits pretty hard when Marilee is on screen.
She is also awkward and bad with people, but she just carries on and does what she wants anyway.
I think that adds friction to her tension with Ripple; Ripple feels 'in the way' and like she could never do what Marilee does... while Marilee just feels awkward around Ripple and doesn't know how to help her.
