I've previously uploaded portions of my map of Asantrea, but this is the first time even I have seen it all on one screen together.
Not quite finished yet, but felt the need to share this, knowing that FA's resolution will render it completely illegible. It's entirely hand--drawn, no element of this is auto-generated or assisted in any way. Pixel by pixel.
After first creating the concept of a place called Asantrea as far back as 2002, I crystallised it into a definitive world for the first time in 2014. I first began work on this digital map in 2018, then enlarged it and re-drew it in 2020, then added the entire eastern half through 2023. Stitching the various parts together, adding mountains that mesh seamlessly between the parts, naming and labelling has been a hell of a journey.
The intention of this map is to be printed to hang on the wall in my house. Its natural (100% zoom) size is A0. 47x33 inches. 1189x841 mm.
It's immense.
I will also be attempting to digitise it, adding various overlays that loosely reflect real-world GIS functionality. In particular I want to illustrate the distribution of species across the world, their cultures and languages, religious beliefs, as well as some temporal overlays like the rise and fall of empires, classical trade routes, etc.
So yeah, hi. Welcome to my world! All my characters live here. All my stories are based here.

Thank you! It's a sort of never-ending project because every time I work on it, I learn a new technique for something (like mountains, or rivers) that I then want to work back into the rest of the map. I hope to eventually have a full-resolution interactive version as well, which can be zoomed and panned around a bit and have pop-up information cards about particular regions, and even maybe some overlays to show things like species distribution, language groups, historical empires, etc.
