Personally i think GX is the best yugioh series by far, the first season is pretty slice of life before getting more serious later on which i found pretty enjoyable

Back when first watching it ages ago, I had genuinely hated it, and had intended to really an angry review, destroying it to shreds. However after spending over a decade waiting to make this video, I matured a lot, and have a new perspective on the series. It's not something where I love it, but there is a lot of nuance there, and I do appreciate some of the things the show did differently, even if I still feel like some things could have been done differently.

I think a lot of people hated it originally but it was less serious than duel monsters but everybody in the yugioh fandom thinks that's a basically a genwunner take now

Not sure if that's the most fitting term for everyone, heh. 5Ds is my favorite season. And as said, I do go into more detail about my issues with GX in the video itself, and I did become aware of how much of that was just personal stuff, how wrong I was about a lot of it, and even there are things that I can classify as more legit problems, I could see others overlooking them, because they do like the show at its core.

I'm definitely no longer insisting that the series is objectively awful, and respect its fans.

It's funny to think that one of my subscribers loves GX, and had spend almost a decade following me, wanting to hear what I could possibly hate about his favorite show. Quite glad I matured throughout the years to where I can show him the video now with a smile on my face.
